Dexter Fields developed his skill for artistic floral design by studying under seasoned floral designers. He honed this skill into a keen eye for contrast, color placement and technique. This personalized art form has earned Dexter the respect and admiration of both his contemporaries and his clientele.
For 20+ years, Dexter has touched numerous clients to the point where one bride declared, “Your flowers embody eveything that a bride wants to see on her wedding day!” His floral art has made lasting impressions on not only attendees of weddings, but corporate events, parties, dinners and even the lobbies of law firms and office buildings.
Dexter has learned directly from Preston Bailey and David Tutera, New York floral and event designers widely known through books and TV appearances. Under their guidance, he discovered how to create an entire 3-D experience in a room, designing lighting and other elements to complement the floral feast. He also took one-on-one sessions with Silver Spring’s Karen Nelson Kent, who specializes in corsages and floral “body jewelry.”
